Meet the Authors

Heidi Seamon

Heidi Holland Seamon hails from Almost Heaven, West Virginia, where she learned the value of hard work and helping others.  She grew up in a big Italian family with a love of music and sun-filled summers on the lake. A creative at heart, Heidi has always found joy in making something out of nothing.

After her brother's sudden death at age 24, Heidi experienced true grief for the first time.  Atlee was her only sibling and, all of a sudden, the one person who shared her childhood memories was gone.

Heidi was introduced to dōTERRA essential oils in 2013, which quickly expanded from incremental daily changes to a lifestyle focused on natural wellness.  After an unexpected emotional experience during a talk about loss at dōTERRA Leadership, Heidi found herself drawn to helping those experiencing grief and began working to lessen their pain. She created a class about Essential Oils for Grief, which led her to Sue Ann, who inspired this book.

A lawyer by trade, Heidi started her path to help others and serves as the General Counsel for a tech company that prioritizes team members and work-life balance.  She considers herself blessed to work with two companies that treasure their people and want to leave a positive mark on the world.

Heidi shares her home among the hills with her very musical and lively family, including her husband of 21 years, Davin, and her three children, Maryn, Antonin, & Agustin.

Sue Ann Grann

As an only child from Chicago, Sue Ann Grann grew up in a vibrant Irish & Italian community with big families. She longed to one day have her own bustling household, filled with kids and dogs.

After many unsuccessful years trying to start a family, she and her husband Eric got that wish. They are now raising their triplet teen boys, a teen daughter, and two vivacious rescue pups in North Georgia.

Pre-kids, Sue Ann lived all across the U.S., working as a Television Writer / Producer and later, in Corporate Marketing and Internal Communication. Even as a kid, she was always either writing—or swimming!

Teasing that she was born with built-in fins, Sue Ann grew up with a love of all-things-water. From Summers spent on the Jersey Shore to swimming competitively through college, water has always restored her soul and been an outlet for her while facing her own waves of grief.

Sue Ann lost her father when she was a freshman in college. Later in life, in the span of just a few years, Sue Ann suffered the great loss of two lifelong friends and two family members —all who had a huge influence on her life.

Then, after the sudden loss of her two senior dogs in the same year, Sue Ann heard Heidi teach a class on “Essential Oils for Grief.” She was excited to use this information to help so many friends and customers—and with her writing background, knew there were stories to add that would offer hope and healing.

The two friends had so many uncanny similarities that they knew it was God’s plan for them to combine their gifts and make it their ministry to write this book together.
